New World is a massively multiplayer action RPG developed in the Lumberyard engine.

I worked on New World as a gameplay engineer until its launch in 2021. Features I delivered include:

  • Housing customization system, including decorating, scoring, interactable items, and buffs.
  • Trading post asynchronous player trading
  • Tradeskill progression for crafting, gathering, and tracking
  • Equipment-applied stat and tradeskill modifiers
  • Arenas for overworld boss encounters
  • Storage container optimizations
  • VFX manager and throttling system
