New World is a massively multiplayer action RPG developed in the Lumberyard engine.
I worked on New World as a gameplay engineer until its launch in 2021. Features I delivered include:
- Housing customization system, including decorating, scoring, interactable items, and buffs.
- Trading post asynchronous player trading
- Tradeskill progression for crafting, gathering, and tracking
- Equipment-applied stat and tradeskill modifiers
- Arenas for overworld boss encounters
- Storage container optimizations
- VFX manager and throttling system
